Gold Bar Metal Value by Size (2026-09-04)
The table prices every common bar size from one gram to one kilogram at today's rate for 999.9 fineness, in dirhams and US dollars, which is the floor a dealer's quote should be compared against, since the difference between the quote and this figure is the premium being charged.

Dealer Premium Calculator
The calculator turns any dealer quotation into a premium over today's metal value: enter the bar weight and the price quoted, and the result shows the premium in dirhams and as a percentage, which is the only number that lets two dealers, or a bar and a coin, be compared on equal terms.
A Published Price Ladder: Emirates NBD Bars, December 2025
Published bar prices are rare in the UAE because dealers quote on request, and the one public size ladder found is the set Emirates NBD released when it launched bank-branded bars on 15 December 2025, reported by Gulf News the next day, which the table reproduces with the implied price per gram.
| Bar | Fineness | Price, AED (16 Dec 2025) | AED per gram |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 g | 999.9 | 5,193.55 | 519.36 |
| 50 g | 999.9 | 25,977.01 | 519.54 |
| 100 g | 999.9 | 52,028.55 | 520.29 |
| 1 kg | LBMA 995/999.9 | 519,090.96 | 519.09 |
Source: Gulf News, 16 December 2025. The spread between the 10 gram and the 1 kilogram bar was under 0.1% per gram on that day; the gold price has moved since, so the figures are a structure, not a current quote.
Which Bars to Buy: Refiners and Brands
The standard that matters in the UAE is UAE Good Delivery, launched in November 2021 under the Ministry of Economy's Emirates Bullion Market Committee, which replaced the DMCC-run Dubai Good Delivery scheme dating from 2005, and the accredited UAE refiners on the list dated 30 June 2025 are Emirates Gold (accredited 2005), Al Etihad Gold (2012), and Sam Precious Metals (2022). Swiss LBMA bars from PAMP and Valcambi are sold through banks and dealers, and Emirates Islamic's digital gold service launched in April 2026 names Emirates NBD, PAMP, and Valcambi bars as its underlying metal, one of the routes the investing guide compares. Retail routes in 2026 include bullion counters in the Gold Souk and its Extension, Joyalukkas's Emirates Gold co-branded 24K bars from 1 to 100 grams launched in September 2025, Malabar 24K bars, and Emirates NBD's 10, 50, and 100 gram bars plus unsealed LBMA bars up to 1 kilogram, ordered through the ENBD X app or a relationship manager with delivery anywhere in the UAE or bank custody for a fee. Sealed bars with the refiner's serial number and an assay card resell with the least friction and are the only form Indian customs accepts for declared import, on the terms the customs guide sets out.
Tax, Regulation, and Checks Before Paying
Bars of 99% purity or higher are zero-rated for VAT under Article 45 of the UAE VAT Decree-Law and Article 36 of its Executive Regulation, so the invoice should show no VAT; the reverse-charge mechanism extended to precious metals by Cabinet Decision 127 of 2024 applies only between VAT-registered businesses and does not touch a retail buyer. Dealers in precious metals and stones are supervised by the Ministry of Economy for anti-money-laundering purposes, must be registered on goAML, and must file a report for cash or wire transactions of AED 55,000 or more, so a dealer asking for identification on a large purchase is complying with the rules. A buyer can check a dealer's DMCC registration on the DMCC public register, should insist on a sealed bar with serial number and assay card, and should keep the invoice, which a buy-back counter, a bank, or a customs officer will ask for. The 24K rate page tracks the per-gram figure daily.
One-Year Chart: 999.9 Gold in AED per Gram
The chart converts one year of daily gold futures closes into the value of one gram of 999.9 gold in dirhams at the fixed 3.6725 peg, which is the line every bar quotation in Dubai moves with, and the caption states the high, low, and one-year change; the history page extends it to ten years.
Gold Bars in Dubai FAQ
How much does a gold bar cost in Dubai today?
On 2026-09-04 the metal value of a 999.9 bar in Dubai is AED 5,233 for 10 grams, AED 52,332 for 100 grams, and AED 523,318 for 1 kilogram, at the spot price of $4,432.60 per ounce and the 3.6725 peg. Dealers add a premium that is larger in percentage terms on small bars, and no VAT applies to bars of 99% purity or higher.
Is there VAT on gold bars in Dubai?
No. Investment precious metals, meaning gold, silver, and platinum of 99% purity or higher in a form tradeable in global bullion markets, are zero-rated under Article 45 of the UAE VAT Decree-Law and Article 36 of its Executive Regulation, so bars and coins that meet the test are sold without the 5% VAT. Jewellery, including 24K jewellery, carries 5% VAT.
Which gold bar brands are sold in Dubai?
UAE-refined bars come from the three refiners accredited under the UAE Good Delivery standard as of June 2025: Emirates Gold, Al Etihad Gold, and Sam Precious Metals. Swiss LBMA brands such as PAMP and Valcambi are sold through banks and dealers, Emirates NBD launched bank-branded 10, 50, and 100 gram bars in December 2025, and Joyalukkas sells Emirates Gold co-branded 24K bars from 1 to 100 grams.
What premium do dealers charge over the gold price?
No major UAE retailer publishes a premium table. The one public size ladder found, Emirates NBD's December 2025 prices, showed almost no spread between 10 gram and 1 kilogram bars on a per-gram basis. Figures of 1 to 3% over spot circulate on unofficial sites and are unverified; the premium calculator on this page works it out from any quote you receive.
Where do I buy a gold bar in Dubai?
Bullion counters in the Deira Gold Souk and the Gold Souk Extension, jewellery chains such as Joyalukkas and Malabar that sell bars, banks such as Emirates NBD through the ENBD X app or a relationship manager, and refiners and dealers registered with DMCC, whose public register can be checked online. Deal only with licensed premises; selling gold from apartments or offices is illegal in Dubai.
Can I take gold bars from Dubai to India?
Only on payment of duty. India's duty-free baggage allowance covers jewellery alone; bars and coins attract the 15% import duty in force since 13 May 2026 from the first gram, must carry the refiner's serial number and weight, and must be declared through the Red Channel. The carrying gold to India guide has the full rules.
